Millions of years ago, the Las Vegas Valley was under water. As such, there are many fossils in parts of the valley of sea creatures. I found these shells the other day out near Red rock, though they are older than the rocks typically found out at Red Rock itself...

Love this photo too. It's so crazy to think that it was all under water at one point - then you see this and it's 100% fact!
