Lowell Observatory

This was taken at the Lowell Observatory and it shows the Clark Telescope. We spent the night in Flagstaff and were fortunate to be able to go do some star gazing up at the Lowell Observatory. It was neat viewing comets, clusters, and galaxies through state of the art telescopes! -Wendi

Mauna Kea on the big island has some of the most powerful telescopes in the world - its prime location because of its elevation and clear weather - but I dont know that they let you see through the telescopes if you are not a staff member so thats pretty awesome you guys got to see through these things =D

that must have been exciting.
last year in Barbados i had a chance to observe Saturn rings from both sides which are apparently visible from the earth every 30 years.

A place that I'd love to visit next time I will be in the area... Even the name of lowell Observatory is evocative!
